Story: 

 A riveting tale, the story  begins in the village of Mandwa and here lives Vijay (hrithik) who is brought up by his principled father (chetan pandit) to lead a life of Agneepath- the path of fire. But fate strikes cruel blow in the form of the evil Kancha Cheena (sanjay dutt) who kills Vijay’s father and hangs him. Vijay swears revenge and leaves for Mumbai with his pregnant mother (zarina). Here, he comes under the wings of don Rauf Lala (rishi kapoor). From then on, he grows up with only one aim and in this process, he doesn’t hesitate to take the bad along with the good. The time arrives when he returns to Mandwa for Kancha. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.


Presentation:

 The director has come up with a gripping storyline and while the presentation was strong, the narrative was intense. The dialogues were hard hitting, the script was written with sensibility and screenplay was terrific. Background score was good and two songs were worthy. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was crisp but could have been better in the first half. Costumes were suiting the moods while the art department was rich. Hrithik Roshan has given a power packed performance and he creates an impression of his own. Priyanka Chopra was there for the glamour part. The best among the lot was Sanjay Dutt, his menacing looks and brawny physique gives goosebumps. Om Puri was fabulous, Rishi Kapoor was a revelation, Chetan Pandit was neat, Zarina Wahab was apt, Deven Bhojani was good, Katrina sizzled with her item song. The others did their bit as required.



Conclusion:  

The film is the remake of the yesteryears cult classic starring the legend Amitabh Bachchan. However, few tweaks were made to the script while the plot remained the same. The first half goes about with the lighter track of romance and sentiment but it is the second half that really gets into the groove. The last twenty minutes is bound to create a massive impact among the audience. Overall, this is a film which has been made with a strong sense of content and respect to the original. At the box office, this is sure to score a big hit.
