Vidhya Balan received the National Award for her best acting in the Hindi film The Dirty Picture which is based on the life the late Telugu and tamil famous actress Silk Smitha. This film is to be remade in Tamil soon.
The production house has been talking to famous heroines to act in this film. Many heroines are also willing to act in this film. There is a lot of expectations among the Tamil audience on this remake of this film because it is based on the life of the sex bomb Silk Smitha.
There were also news earlier that Anushka will be donning the role which Vidhya Balan donned in the Hindi version. In between it is understood that Nayanthara has been approached for this role since she has taken up acting again. When asked Nayanthara about this, she said, “Nobody has approached me to do the Silk role and I am also not interested to act in that role.”
