Heroine hunt is one of the most vital process of movie making. And the dilemma to choose from the umpteen number of beautiful faces just gets to the director and producer sometimes. Here are some of the heroines who made headlines this year, and elbowed out a few to gain the coveted lead role in upcoming movies.

Deepika must have blamed her stars when Rana shelved. But relief came in the form of Kochadaiyan. Although Vidya Balan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka’s names were speculated, Deepika won the role.

Nayanthara is making a comeback in the as-yet-untitled movie, directed by Vishnuvardhan opposite Ajith. Anushka and Amala Paul were considered for the role.

Kamal’s Viswaroopam dilly dallied with Priya Anand and Anushka, before settling to Pooja Kumar.

When Billa 2 was launched, Vimala Raman and Anushka were said to be part of the project. But in the end, Miss India Parvathy Omanakuttan bagged the role.
