Deepika Padukone was signed for the female lead role in the film Raana which was dropped due to Rajni’s ill health.  Katrina Kaif was selected to pair with Rajni in the film Kochadaiyan. Talks were going on with her with regard to this.

Due to call sheet problems, she was not able to allocate dates for this film. Because of this Deepika Padukone has been signed to pair with Rajni. Deepika is very happy because she is going to pair with Rajni. She while speaking about this said, “I am very happy that I am once again going to pair with Rajni.
